Dr Damon Batts is a Fellow of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and has undertaken further subspecialty training, currently completing a Certificate of Advanced Training in Psychiatry of Old Age.
He has worked in both public and private mental health services in General Adult, Old Age, Perinatal, Consultation Liaison and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Currently Dr Batts works exclusively in private practice providing out-patient psychiatric care to adults.
Dr Batts has a patient-centered approach and while his expertise lies in the role of medication in the treatment of mental illness, he incorporates evidence based practice within a holistic approach, working collaboratively with psychologists and other care providers.
He is particularly interested in the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety disorders (including generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic and obsessive compulsive disorder), ADHD, adjustment disorders and cognitive disorders.
